To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. Isaiah 61:3

2013 In Review!

It doesn't seem like I did a lot of sewing this past year.  I believe that is due solely to the fact that most of my sewing consisted of making undergarments to support new silhouette.  March 4th was Idaho's Sesquicentennial Celebration and We Wear History decided we needed to theme this year around the various events that were held around town.  To that end, I needed to make underwear to support the skirts from 1863.  Then I had the idea that I would make several Regency era dresses to wear to Costume College.  Well...an old sports injury focused on my back, decided to rear its ugly head and made is to that I could not attend Costume College.  So, this year has been a very odd year.  A lot of underwear and hats and not so many dresses.  But, when I got all of my creations together, I actually did quite a bit!
Here they are!

Aaaaah....As 2013 comes to an end, I am reminded about how much I truly enjoy costuming and how wonderful it is to have a husband who supports and encourages me in my sewing, and doesn't grouch about the fact that I love to do this wonderful hobby!  Thank you my love!

Bring on 2014!!  New things are in store!

    1. Hi Quinn!

I do feel a wonderful sense of accomplishment with all I finished this year. Not a lot of dresses, but a lot of sewing, so that's great! Thank you for your wonderful compliment on the Idaho Dress...Not to bad for my first hoop dress! ;-) Even though the trim did give me fits both on the skirt and bodice...New Years resolution #1? Make sure the trims match up! hahahaha!!

Happy New Year to you as well!
      Blessings!
