To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. Isaiah 61:3

Mom's Edwardian Sailor Dress Started!!!

Good gracious!  It has been a while since I have posted!  Things have been busy....just life and stuff!  But all good stuff!
Time is getting nearer to when the sailor dresses have to be done for Mom and me.  So, I have been working like a busy bee getting them moving along.  I am really excited about them and can't wait to be able to wear them!

Here is a reminder of what Mom's dress is going to be patterned after, except that the red will be blue.

We found some fabulous insertion lace at the Farm Chick's Antique Sale, which by the way was FABULOUS!!!!  I will be going back next year.  I decided that the lace would be perfect to go around the wide collar.  And of course you can't see it real well, but around the "V" will be some more antique lace.  It is a piece of a larger netting piece with beautiful lace border.  The hat will be made from the remainder of this lace.

The back of the collar.  Ah!  Here you can see some more of the beautiful net panel with lace edging!!!  So gorgeous!!!
