To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. Isaiah 61:3

Maiden Voyage of the 1912 Pink and White Suit!

Warning:  Photo intensive post!

I am sorry!  but sometimes when I feel like I look good in pictures, I like to share them so I can show the world...I do on occasion look halfway decent!!  hahahahahah...so please bear with the amount of pictures here!

Today, some of the members of We Wear History had the immense pleasure of attending a concert at The Bishops House in Boise.  The Tablerock Trio delighted us with their wonderful sound and charming ways!  Mom, Tammy and I were entranced and very much enjoyed the lovely music that met our ears!  I can't wait to go to another of their concerts!

I cannot believe how badly this fabric wrinkles!!  Note to self:  dress at the event!!

Tammy and me

My beautiful Mama!!

I LOVE the way everything about Mom and this outfit is moving...the wind was a bit windy so it played around with the Bird of Paradise fethers in her hat!

The gorgeous Bishops House...I want this so bad!!!

A fun dress from 1897, curly lambs wool hand muff and hat

Just stunning is my Mama!

Three of the ladies of We Wear History in "The Brides Room" at TBH.  It is so gorgeous and I will be making a reproduciton of that divine dress!

Most excellent!  A front and back view all at once!

I LOVE this dress on Tammy!  She knows how to rock Natural Form Era!!!  So gorgeous!

My two silly friends!

The Table Rock Trio and We Wear History...the Past and the Present!  LOVE it!

Mama and Me
I hope you all have a most wonderful week!

Blessings!

  5. Wooow! Gina! This is seriously one of the prettiest Titanic Era outfit's I've ever seen! I love the colours and the hat is just too pretty! Not to mention how it all matches your gorgeous hair! I've probably said it before, but powder pink really is your color! And your mother looks so pretty in this gorgeous gown, I wish my mom would like to attend events with me, that would be fun :)

  7. Look how beautifull that dress is in action! You all three look lovely, and I agree you need a big Victorian home, you would do it great justice. I felt the same way about my pink dress, the wrinkles were shocking!

  10. Oh this is just gorgeous! As with the Sailor Suit of Swear, you have such a talent for adding just the perfect amount of contrast to a dress to really make it special.

All this and are you still working on your mauve, black and white ensemble with the buttons as well? Do you have a time machine hidden away somewhere? (I'm just jealous!)

    1. Ah the Sailor Suit of Swear....good times! Thank you for your wonderful compliment Black Tulip! It has truly made my heart happy! Actually I am done with the mauve, black and white ensemble...just haven't posted pictures of it yet! I don't have a time machine though....While the boys are in school, I am trying to get as much done as I can, because when summer comes there will be little time to sew!!

  13. Bravo, Gina! Beautiful dress! And I love your mama's dress too. The fabric is perfecto! I found a hat blank like her's last year and now I know what I can use it for.

    1. Oh thank you so much Val! This was a great dress up day! Mom's dress is one of her favorites so she was happy that she got to wear it this day! Mom's hat is actually a greatly morphed brown wool felt bowler. I used buckram and wire to elongate the brim and then covered the whole thing with curly lambs wool. It looks so great on mom!! I can't wait to see your hat!!

  14. Dear Gina,
LOVE. Love. Love. WOW. Where do I begin? Just everything about your outfit - from the dress, to the lace, hat, etc. - is sheer perfection!! Your attention to all of the details, especially how you played with the pink and white (buttons!), never ceases to amaze! You and your mom both look like you've just stepped out of fashion plates. Absolutely fantastic!
    Keep inspiring us,
    Anneliese :)

    1. Oh Anneliese, you always know how to bring a smile to my face! The buttons make me happy. I love buttons, they are one of my weaknesses when it comes to putting them on a costume! Thank you for your sweet comment about my Mama and me! We have a lot of fun dressings up!!
