Today when I awoke, my hair was a riot of curls...going to bed with a wet head tends to do that in my case...so I chose to take advantage of my curly hair. I broke out the curling iron and curled the top and back of my hair and smoothed out the side "wings" that flip foward. Then I dug out my fabulous (if sadly shattering) wide antique, silk floral ribbon and fashioned it into a 1920s hair bandeau! After making sure it looked good over my fore head, I tied it into a bow in the back and began to position the curls over the ribbon in the fashion of photographs from the 1920s...those ladies were so beautiful with their scarf and ribbon bandeaus! Then of course I had to take pictures and play with said pictures to get the affect of the photographs from back then! The vintage images below can be seen here:

Fun twisted bandeau! |
I had a little bit too much fun playing with the photo editing program! I chose a "tinted", black and white, and sepia toned image to share! I can't wait for the opportunity to wear my hair bandeau style! It will be great fun!
Now it is time to get back to folding laundry and getting dinner ready! I hope you all have a fabulous week my lovely friend!
Blessings!

I think this haiband gives you a pretty beautiful 20s look. I'm cusious what dress you will wear with it.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Thalia! Sadly, the wonderful antique ribbon I used for the bandeau was already starting to shatter and fall apart, so this wearing was its last. It makes me so very sad as it is such a gorgeous ribbon and I doubt I will be able to find any more like it!! But I have some navy chiffon and crepe that I am going to be turning into a dress that I would have worn the bandeau with!

Just beautiful! You have lovely hair.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so very much Cindy! I used to hate my red hair...then everyone in my high school started dyeing their hair red! Huzzah!!! I didn't ever dislike it after that!

Ok let me try this one more time, I had a gremlin earlier and could not seem to post my comment. Love love love the new do! The scarf is all mysterious and artsy and the tinted photos are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much fabulous friend! It was a fun hairstyle and could totally pour over into today wear! I will have to find a scarf that looks like this ribbon as it is all shattered....so sad as it was so awesome!!!
ReplyDeleteAww this is the coolest! Can't wait for your next 20's productions after such a good start. Perfect makeup! And you know what? Your eyebrows are light enough to try to pencil them a little with dark brown/black pencil. I think it might give you this silent-cinema stars' look I'm so desperately trying to achieve!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Eleonora!! This was a fun little experiment!! Yes, I do need to add a little color to my eyebrows...But I know it will freak me out until I get used to it!! hahahahaha!!! I can't wait to start on the 20s wardrobe, but need to make some 1912s first.....grrrrr.....things tend to get in the way of me having fun!!
