To all who mourn in Israel, He will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory. Isaiah 61:3

1920s Wire Brimmed Cloche Pictures

A while ago, a very lovely friend of mine asked me to create a HUGE brimmed 1920s cloche for an event she would be attending in May.  I said sure!!  You know me!  I adore making hats.  The only problem with this was I had never made one before.  After about a day of extreme freaking out, I set about molding the straw crown frame and fiddling with the wire brim.  I loved it so much that I made one for myself that will be covered at a later date....

Well, miss Lonna got the chance to wear her hat to her event and it looked fabulous on her and I obtained permission from her to share the photos I took of the hat before I sent it to her.  She has impeccable taste and I was salivating all over the materials she sent me to play with....I really did not want to send this hat to her, I sooooooo loved it!!

All of the materials she sent to me were vintage save for the satin that I used for the band and lining.  I would love to get lost in Lonna's vast collection of pretties....sigh!!!

The Lovely Miss Lonna...isn't she fabulous?  Everything about her screams glamour!
